The first four illustrations were to show how the new technology of Actiwheel works. Old wheel sets on trains screech and grind as they go around corners, but Actiwheel technology, with motors inside the wheels eliminates this, getting rid of the noise and the damage to the tracks.
The next set of four illustrations shows how driverless technology works. The vehicles sense what is around them. This data, once understood, is used to make a decision about a manoeuvre, which is then carried out.
The final set of illustrations shows a new technology called ‘Promethius’, named after the technology in the Ridley Scott film of the same name. It is a drone that can be lowered down a borehole and which then flies around the tunnel, mapping the contours, which can be used to create a digital double.
Here are the final illustrations.
